Of course, it took a while to find my true passion after answering the call to motherhood. I hold an associate's degree in liberal arts, which was earned while trying to figure out what it was that I wanted to do with my life.
I live in Mannsville, NY with my husband (we got married on Halloween of 2009-yes, full on costume!) and any number of our 7 children (the number can fluctuate on any given day) in a big, beautiful Victorian house, surrounded by flowers and veggies. I am continuing with the great vintage finds-some things are just too great to be cut up! It's been almost a year since I went on hiatus, and I'm glad to be back, with a new look and a new vision. This year, I've decided to expand my line to include hats and scarves. It is marked Henry Selmer, France, HS, Made in France to its ligature and Bundy, Resonite, Selmer, U.S.A. My materials are high quality, and my home is smoke free.įor the last 7 years, I've been making and selling HandCandy Mittens to people with cold hands and to 40 stores in the Northeastern United States. A vintage Bundy Resonite clarinet by Henry Selmer, with a black molded plastic body and silver tone hardware.
My accessories are stylish and flattering, made from vintage fabrics, castoff clothing, curtains and other linens and especially sweaters! It's hard to pin down my style, I tend to be all over the board, with an eye on the latest trends.
I just thought I was being frugal! So now, I've decided to share this practice with the general public. For 35 years now, I've been sewing for myself and others, turning castoffs into treasures way before it was cool or considered eco-friendly.
